Reflection

One thing that has changed my life in the past was the day I went camping with my father and his friends. What had happen was that when we go camping we go from Friday to Sunday and when we go we also enjoy hunting as well. When it was Saturday morning when my father had tagged a deer. Well after we skinned and took a piece off to eat. We started to pack everything except the tent because since we had bagged an animal there was no reason for us to go out and hunt again. Well the rest of the day my father had felt as if he was invincible. On Sunday morning my father woke up a little early to begin to cook something very fast for we can leave early to beat traffic because it’s at least three hours to arrive home. By the time me and my father finish eating we mad more food for everyone else to eat. So we began to start cleaning up like picking up trash and making sure we didn’t leave anything behind. By the time we finished cleaning everyone had already woken up. It wasn’t until twelve o’clock we started to leave. When my father got into the truck he told me if I were ready? I told him for what? He replied saying today was going to see if this truck could make up that hill. And I told him don’t do it because the truck wont do make it. But instead he just hit the gas and took off up the hill. But what he didn’t notice was that the dirt was loose so half ways there wasn’t any traction. My dad let go of the brakes which was a big mistake. The truck ended up going backwards and hitting a trunk. It took three hours and two trucks to get our truck out of the hill. Since that day I thank God for looking after us on that day and the rest after that because if you notice we ended up nearly going down the mountain if it wasn’t for that trunk.

Reflection

In my point of view, my reading habits weren’t as different as they were as a child. As a child I would just read what I would have to because if I kept on continuing to read I would some reason I would loose my train of thought and end up reading the text over and over until finally I understood what was going on, while I was I child I intended a program called bridges in my elementary school. What bridges was, was that it would help me read and understand what was in the text and help me remember what I read in the text. This program did help me very much; I was able to become a much better reader from what I was before.

During middle school not much changed for me. I would just read what was assigned to me just to barley pass the basics. I would just read what I would have to because if I kept on continuing to read I would some reason I would loose my train of thought and end up reading the text over. It wasn’t until eighth grade when my reading teacher was always on my case of how I was doing in my reading, her name was Mrs. Anderson and because of her I was able to move up from a third grade level reader to a seventh grade reader.

When I entered high school everything changed for me. I enjoyed almost every book I read especially Harry Potter. It seemed to me not reading when I was younger seemed foolish and a was of time. If I were able to go back and change my reading habits I would do it in a heartbeat.
